Left-wing perspectives of Bukharian, Mizrahi and Ashkenazi Jews in Berlin

WHO we are

We are a left-wing group of immigrant and non-immigrant Jews. We are of Bukharan, Mizrahi and Ashkenazi origin. We live in Berlin, most of us grew up in Germany. Our voices, perspectives and identities are diverse.

What we have in common is that we miss voices in the public discourse through which we feel represented.

We are an emancipatory group. This means that we stand up against all forms of discrimination (in their respective specificities). This means for us that we want to encourage people with our work to stand up against injustice, in order to create a better society for all and everywhere. And it means for us to criticise, co-create and develop (beyond the usual divisions) the ‘left discourse’ in solidarity.

We condemn European border politics and the rassist politics and police violence in Germany.

We support a solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict that provides security and sovereignty for all people in the region.

We want more than symbolic remembrance from the German majority society. We want real responsibility taking and confrontation with one’s own family connections to Nazi perpetrators and collaborators.

We are tired of being instrumentalised by the white and Christian German majority society for its redemption.

We are looking for allies.

We are angry. We are irreconcilable.
